Angel Cabrera gets Victory

Two-Time major winner Angel Cabrera shot a final-round 64 to claim victory at the Greenbrier Classic; The Argentine finished 16 under par to win by two shots from American George McNeill, whose final round of 61 included a hole in one at the eighth.

Cabrera has had many victories in the past including the US Open in 2007 and the Masters in 2009 but his victory at Old White TPC is his first in a regular PGA Tour event.

Scoring conditions were good on Sunday and Cabrera rolled in three steady birdies on the front nine to go out in 31. But after the turn was where he made his real move and put some distance on the field. El Pato played the first holes on the back nine in 4-under. The highlight of the stretch, and of his round and his week, came at the 13th, where he holed out for eagle from 175 yards out in the fairway.

It was great to see Angel Cabrera finally win the Greenbrier Classic, as he is a great support on the golf course and off the golf course, as he is always high-fiving his playing partners in competition, engaging fans, and smoothly strolling around the course, as if he wasn’t nervous and had nothing to worry about, this was clearly true at the Greenbrier Classic, as Cabrera did stroll on the course, and played extremely well against some amazing opponents but Cabrera won.
